Co-Create is a product creation programme for Lush staff, aiming to promote diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging by lifting up authentic stories from respective communities. Co-creator Shantal Astudillo shares her inspiration for this Día de Muertos product:

“My partner and I created the Calaverita bath bomb to celebrate Día de los Muertos in a colourful, nostalgic and meaningful way. Through this project, we wanted to share that in Mexican culture, love, memory and connection with those who have passed away never truly disappear; they simply take on a different form. The skull represents death, but when transformed into bright colours and sweet scents, it becomes something warm and comforting instead of frightening. Inspired by childhood memories of creating ofrendas, this project is also deeply personal to me as an immigrant woman with dyslexia, allowing me to proudly express my culture, identity and creativity through Lush.”
